About Connect 2-1-1

Get Connected, Get Answers

CONNECT211.org is a web-based, geographic information and referral service (GIS) ... a bridge between people who need services and the agencies furnishing those services. CONNECT211.org contains a large database of health and human services in the five county Philadelphia region – Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia. Additionally users of connect can conduct proximity searches and see their results on a graphical map and obtain accurate driving, transit and walking directions.

Future versions of CONNECT 211.org will allow users to create accounts to save searches and maps and use advanced tools.

Increasing Social Service Effectiveness
Reducing case-worker backlog, overlaps, confusion, & gaps

In the Philadelphia region, there is a maze of federal, state, & local government social service programs such as Medicare, county assistance, Social Security & disability programs, job training, drug counseling, and many more. Human services are also offered by faith-based providers, nonprofit organizations, and other programs. Citizens in need of these services in their daily lives are often overwhelmed by the process of identifying them, and have little idea of where to go to get help.

CONNECT211.org was created to aid the public and providers and by bringing a large number of services and the latest technology to their computer screen in a easy to use, appealing fashion. Often, a citizen may be unaware of assistance available nearby, but with some simple ‘locational’ information, they could manage their own needs much more independently. The CONNECT211.org provides advanced mapping and direction tools to make this a reality.

Social Service Taxonomies
Logical ways to display available services

The CONNECT211.org website displays a logical, visually-coherent arrangement of our region’s social services. It displays not only maps, program details including contact information and directions. Regardless of their computer skills, users can easily navigate through an appealing, helpful structure that guides them to the services they need.

Data Layers
Decision support tools for citizens

CONNECT211.org is unique in that it culls nearly 10,000 service providers from across diverse regional sectors: religious organizations, local government, and non-profit agencies alike. Additionally, users are able to see additional layers of data on the map screens of CONNECT211.org. These include public transit routes, school districts and U.S. and State congressional districts
